Santa Rosa Dead Pelicans join PCRL

Pacific Coast Rugby League (PCRL) and the North Bay based Santa Rosa Dead Pelicans are pleased to announce that they have signed an affiliation agreement.

The Dead Pelicans are an established rugby club in the Santa Rosa area with strong community ties, and a passion for growing the sport in both men’s and women’s rugby. With plenty of experience in both codes of rugby, the Dead Pelicans will be a formidable opponent for the other teams in the growing PCRL 2023 competition.

With the addition of the North Bay club, PCRL have reached the threshold for their men’s competition to apply as an affiliate league to USARL for 2023. The Dead Pelicans join the LA Mongrel, LA Bandidos, and San Diego Barracudas as the latest club committed to providing the Pacific Coast with a high quality rugby league season in summer 2023 under the USARL umbrella.

Dead Pelicans president Rob Beasley said, “The Dead Pelicans are very happy to join the Pacific Coast Rugby League and its member clubs for the 2023 13s season. We look forward to great competition and growing this amazing game with you all”.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome the Dead Pelicans to the Pacific Coast Rugby League fold; we share a common vision of growing the game on the West Coast and providing opportunities for players and teams to play in a wider geographic area in full alignment with the National Governing Body. We are excited for the continued growth, and welcome applications from other teams to join PCRL” added PCRL president Ady Cooney.
